Trofimov, Georgy Yulianovich

The IFS senior economist

Georgy Trofimov is the IFS senior economist. Engaged in macroeconomic policy problem studying, he conducts research in the filed of open economy macroeconomic theory, public debt management, global economic dynamics models, etc.

Mr. Trofimov used to work with leading research institutes such as Central Economics and Mathematics Institute, Institute for Market Problems and Institute for Transition Economy.

For several years, he has been liaising with the Stockholm Research Institute of Industrial Economics (Sweden) regarding the issues of national economy modeling and forecasting and social welfare system reforming.

A graduate from M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and the University's post-graduate school, he defended a thesis for a Ph.D. in economics degree in 1988.

More than 30 Trofimov's research works have been published in Russia and abroad.
