Alexey Pomansky, Institute for Financial Studies CEO.

A D.Sc. in economy and a professor, Mr. Pomansky was one of the IFS founders. He has been engaged in economics- and finance-related activities for more than 40 years. During his career Mr. Pomansky has successfully balanced research with teaching and consulting.

A graduate from the M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Mechanics and Mathematics Department, he started his career as a junior research officer and advanced to the position of head of a laboratory at one of Russia's leading institutions – Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Science, the establishment that turned out high-class specialists for the Russian business elite and public administration.

More than 110 research works by Mr. Pomansky have been published in leading Russian and foreign economic and financial editions, he also authored three treatises in finance and economy.

Mr. Pomansky is a recognized authority in the following economic theory fields: financial market theory, public debt management, portfolio theory and theory of decision-making in the circumstances of risk and uncertainty, theory of share auctions.

Professor Pomansky has been lecturing and teaching a special course in the fundamentals of economic theory and corporate finance theory at the M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Economic Department for more than 20 years.

Mr. Pomansky's theoretical expertise has been of much help in various practical applications. He used to head analytical subdivisions of Russia's major credit companies. As the IFS leader, Mr. Pomansky supervises teams of experts engaged in banks, financial companies and oil sector enterprises counseling.
