Economics and climate: challenges to Russia and the world
IFS researchers took part in the Association of Russian Economic Think Tanks` Dispute Club roundtable on "Economics and climate: challenges to Russia and the world". Among the main speakers were A. A. Averchenkov, senior councilor on energy efficiency and climate change at UNDP Office in Russia and S. N. Bobylev, vice president of the Center for Russian Environmental Policy, professor with the MSU Economics Department. The roundtable tackled such issues as the influence of climate change on the global economy and benefits from Russia's participating in international projects to raise energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emission. The discussion on practical realization of measures to reduce energy consumption in Russia and international cooperation in the field of energy efficiency aroused high interest among the participants.
